• Really enjoyed this book! I have several other books on learning visayan/cebuano but this my favorite. Chocked full of useful vocabulary and stock phrases, good explanation of verb tenses which gets tricky, even has some slang and cultural information i havent seen anywhere else..definitely need this in your collection if you are learning visayan! Daghan salamat!
• The term "BisDak" was originally started by callers on a morning "rock music" radio station show 99.5 RT DJ'd by Ka Pedro in the early 90's. Callers used BisDak as a slang term to belittle/mock anything they (the callers) deemed "Lame" or "Square". BisDak term was popular then and probably still is..."Bisdak" is not a nice thing to say. It was used in the early 90's and even today to refer to something "local and cheap", basically from Cebu. I know this because I lived there for 25 years and me and my barkada would call anything "lame" or "unpopular" to be bisdak.
